At Oshawa Community Credit Union, we are dedicated to providing the modern financial tools our members need. We understand that you require solutions that are efficient, accessible, and prioritize the highest standards of digital security.
We are pleased to announce that OCCU debit cards can now be integrated into Apple Pay®, Google Pay™, and Samsung Pay. This enhancement allows you to transition your physical wallet into a secure, digital format, providing a streamlined payment experience at participating merchants worldwide.
The transition to a mobile wallet offers significant benefits that extend beyond mere convenience. This technology focuses on two core pillars: Efficiency and Data Integrity.
Advanced Encryption (Tokenization): Your actual card number is replaced by a unique digital identifier, ensuring your sensitive account information is never shared with merchants or stored on your device.
Biometric Verification: Transactions require multi-factor authentication such as facial recognition, a fingerprint, or a secure passcode, adding a robust layer of protection.
Operational Efficiency: Mobile payments expedite the checkout process and provide instant digital receipts, allowing for more precise personal financial management.
To activate this feature, please ensure your mobile device is updated to the latest operating system and follow the procedure below:
Open the Wallet app on your smartphone (Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, or Samsung Pay).
Add your OCCU debit card by snapping a photo or entering the details manually.
Verify your card through a one-time code sent to your registered phone or email, or by calling our branch.
NOTE: Verifying your card through our mobile app is not currently available but is coming soon for Apple devices!
While the method of payment has changed, our dedication to your financial safety remains our main priority. All mobile wallet transactions are backed by the same comprehensive fraud monitoring and Zero Liability protections that apply to your physical OCCU cards.
In the event that your mobile device is lost or stolen, your digital cards can be remotely deactivated or suspended via your device's native tracking service, ensuring your funds remain protected.
Should you require assistance with the setup process, our staff is available to assist you. Please contact us at 905-576-4200 or visit our branch for a step by step walkthrough.
