JOB POSTING: Part-Time Loan Officer


The part-time loan officer will provide customized financing solutions for our members. These solutions will include a full range of lending products including mortgages and related insurance products.


To qualify as a successful candidate, you must have the following education, training and experience:

• Minimum of 2 years post-secondary education or equivalent

• Minimum of 5 years progressive lending experience up to and including mortgages

• Solid understanding of lending underwriting, procedures, policies and controls required in the financial services industry

• Experience with a Loans Origination System


The successful candidate will be accountable for the following:

• Interviewing loan applicants; completing loan applications; analyzing and assessing credit risk; completing security inspections and searches; and provide supporting information for recommending or refusing financing to Management that is based on established lending principles, regulations and Oshawa Community Credit Union (OCCU) Limited policies.

• Completing all supporting documentation required relating to account openings, legal and insurance documents.

• Processing documents using different computer programs up to and including a Loan Origination System.


Other duties:

• The candidate will be required to assist with other financial service functions as required including reception, cash functions, and investments.


Other information:

• Once probation is complete, part-time employees are governed by a Collective Agreement.

• The hours of work will vary and are limited to a maximum of 23 hours per week. These hours may be increased to accommodate covering for sick time and vacation of full-time employees.
